Good Faith Estimate (GFE) Policy
Your Right to a Good Faith Estimate
Under the No Surprises Act (effective January 1, 2022), self-pay and uninsured clients have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) of the expected total cost for non-emergency items and services. This includes the cost of therapy sessions, holistic services, and any related fees you may be charged.
When You Will Receive a GFE
If you are not using insurance or are uninsured, you will receive a GFE in writing before your scheduled services.
You can request a GFE before you schedule a service at any time.
The GFE will outline the expected cost of your care for up to 12 months.
What the GFE Includes
Your Good Faith Estimate will list:
The type(s) of service(s) you are scheduled to receive
The expected number of sessions or duration of service
The cost per session or service
Any additional fees (e.g., late cancellations, specialized assessments)
Disclaimer on Estimates
The Good Faith Estimate is not a contract and does not obligate you to receive services. Actual costs may vary if additional services are requested or needed. If you receive a bill that is $400 or more than your GFE, you have the right to dispute the charges through the Patient-Provider Dispute Resolution Process.
